Berlin-based Turkish-German Employers Association (TDU), of which we are a member, held a New Year’s Reception after two years. As in previous years, there was great interest in the reception. The fact that it coincided with the state parliament and city council elections to be held in Berlin on February 12 increased the interest of politicians in the New Year’s reception. Minister of Agriculture and Forestry Prof. came to Berlin to attend the Sustainable Agriculture Conference held parallel to the Green Week Fair within the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Germany. Dr. Vahit Kirişçi also attended the reception. Berlin Prime Minister Franziska Giffey (SPD), CDU’s prime candidate in the Berlin elections, Kai Wegner, and FDP’s prime candidate in the Berlin elections, Sebastian Czaja, attended the TDU’s invitation. Representatives of non-governmental organizations as well as Turkish and German business people were present at the invitation, which was attended by Berlin Ambassador Ahmet Başar Şen and Consul General Rıfkı Olgun Yücekök, and included approximately 500 guests.
